Halitosis has a chemical name: volatile sulfur compounds (VSCs). They form when oral bacteria break down saliva proteins, food debris, and shed epithelial cells. Of them all, methanethiol (CH₃SH) is the one your nose hates the most.
Subjective "freshness" tests tell you nothing. To prove a spray works you have to count how many molecules of methanethiol are left in the air after you use it.
Our undiluted spray was sealed in bottles with a methanethiol solution at 37 °C for 12 hours. Residual concentration was measured by gas chromatography.

EGCG polyphenols form complexes with VSCs, reducing volatility and dampening the perceived odor at the source.
Bisabolol and apigenin soothe the oral mucosa — useful for mouths irritated by the harsh solvents found in traditional mouthwashes.
